If a student is absent in an examination, it will be considered as an attempt taken by the student.
However, if the absence is due to medical reasons or other unavoidable circumstances, the student may submit an appeal with supporting evidence to request that the grade of the next attempt be considered for Distinction GPA calculation. Therefore, submission of a medical certificate or other relevant evidence is required only from students who wish to be considered for a Distinction Pass.
Accordingly, any student who wishes to be considered for a Distinction Pass is required to submit an appeal for any examination(s) missed during Semester 1, 2, 3, or 4 of the Master’s degree programmes. Appeals must include valid supporting evidence and be submitted on or before 15th August 2025, using the Google Form linked below. Please ensure that the applicable administrative fees are paid before submission.

Notes:
A registered student of the Master’s programme must complete the degree within four (04) academic years.
In addition to the administrative fee mentioned above, students are required to pay the examination fees for the relevant missed courses when applying to sit for them at the next available opportunity.
Students enrolled in Semester 1 of the Master of Computer Science and Master of Information Technology degree programmes are not eligible to apply for this appeal.
